Capable of 15KW, the 4535 is the newest and largest motor in Astro Flight's lineup. This 12-pound motor is intended for applications where power-to-weight is of the utmost importance.

High Power, High Quality

The purpose of the development of the 4535 was to deliver the same quality and reliability of our 32XX motors but at nearly 4x the power. Starting at the core of the motor, the 4535 uses the highest grade of sintered samarium-cobalt magnet. Unlike hobby grade neodymium magnets, these samarium-cobalt magnets are able to withstand high operating temperatures without losing magnetic strength or experiencing permanent demagnetization. Ultra-thin laminations are used in the stator to ensure minimal iron losses and maximize efficiency. All components of the motor are rated to at least 200°C to handle high continuous and burst power. Finally, to ensure manufacturing quality, all 4535 motors are designed and manufactured in Astro Flight's facility in Irvine, CA.

Support and Customization

One of the key features that makes Astro Flight unique is its ability to tailor motors to customers' needs. Since the 4535 motors are built to order and manufactured in-house, customers can request different housings, cooling configurations, shafting, and turn count. The engineering team can assist customers with proper motor selection and customization options.

Quiet and Efficient Performance

The 4535 stator design and magnetic topology produces a very clean trapezoidal back EMF while also eliminating cogging. This makes for quiet and efficient operation as well as an easy start.

The careful design and manufacturing of the 4535 allow it to achieve a peak efficiency as high as 94% and maintain high efficiency over a wide range of voltage and current values. This makes the motor suitable for a wide variety of applications.

CUSTOM OPTIONS FOR THE 4535

Shaft Diameter

The standard 4535 shaft is 1/2" in diameter. We also offer a 12mm version.

Shaft Length

The standard 4535 has 2" of shaft protruding from the front face and flush on the back. Customers may specify the amount of shaft length protruding from both sides of the motor.

Temperature Sensor

An optional temperature sensor may be installed into the motor. This temperature sensor is embedded in the coil windings and has a temperature range from -40 to 300 Celsius (-40°F to 572°F). 

Enclosed Housing

The standard 4535 housing has porting in the front and rear and has a fan ducting air through the entire system. A fully enclosed housing is available for applications in harsh environments with dust and dirt or when there is little airflow over the motor. 

Custom Sizing

The 4535 can be scaled up or down to fit your application and power requirements.

DIMENSIONS

The 4535's dimensions are approximately 4.5" diameter and 7" length and the motor weighs approximately 12 pounds.
